Bath-based web agency Mud, formed in July last year by Matt Powell and Cole Henley, is in the line up for a prestigious global industry award

A young Bath business is celebrating its half-birthday with news that it is in the running for a prestigious global industry award.

Mud, a web agency with a client list already including University of Bath, WHSmith and Unilever, has been shortlisted by an influential trade publication as one of the world’s best online design companies.

Beating more than 2,000 nominees from across the world, Mud has been selected by .net magazine as a contender for its 2014 Best New Agency award. Mud was shortlisted for its outstanding work, as a digital agency formed in the past 12 months employing more than two people.

“This is really great acknowledgement for all of our hard work over the past months” commented Mud’s managing director Matt Powell.

“As a small, but growing agency, it is a real privilege to have been recognised by our peers with this nomination, and be in the company of so many respected people and businesses across the world.”

Mud is one of four UK agencies to have been selected for .net magazine’s Best New Agency award shortlist.

Now in their fifteenth year, the awards celebrate the best global contributions in web design and development.

Mud has offices in Fountain Building and was formed in July last year by experienced website designers Matt Powell and Cole Henley, who combine more than twenty years of industry experience.  The agency currently employs three staff and is looking to recruit a project manager to oversee its growing workload.

The shortlists for each .net award category are now open to the public vote until 24 March, to determine the final five agencies per category.  These will be invited to a London award ceremony in May, where the results will be decided by a panel of industry experts.
