Somerset’s first premium sunflower oil, extra virgin rapeseed oil and accompanying dressings and mayonnaises are now on the shelves of The Co-operative stores across the region.

Andy Fussell last year provided A36 motorists with a sunflower backdrop and has since impressed The Co-op with his growing range of home-grown oils and sauces.

‘It’s still quite strange seeing the little cartoon character of me on shop shelves, but this is a real result for my oils and dressings’ commented Mr Fussell.

‘As a farmer I’m a firm believer and advocate of eating food that’s as locally-grown as possible, so it’s great when retailers agree.’

Mr Fussell’s products are now available at The Co-op stores in Coleford, Radstock, Peasedown St John, Chew Magna, Timsbury, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and Chilcompton.

In April this year Mr Fussell launched the latest addition to his Fussels Fine Food line: Somerset grown extra virgin sunflower oil.

Further Fussels products are planned for later this year, which will also take their inspiration form traditional ingredients.
