Plans revealed for new city pub opening
The Bath Pub Company has revealed it will open its fourth pub in May.
In March, the business took on the lease for The Dolphin Inn on Locksbrook Road in Lower Weston.
Following a £250,000 joint refurbishment with Enterprise Inns, it will reopen in May as The Locksbrook Inn.
“Our association with this pub does seem to be Bath’s worst kept secret at the moment – it’s probably time we let people know a bit more about what’s in store” commented Joe Cussens, director of The Bath Pub Company, which also runs The Chequers, The Marlborough Tavern and The Hare and Hounds.
“Our pubs each have their own character – a chain approach to things doesn’t quite work for us. Rest assured, we’re planning something a little different for this one.
“The building is undergoing a transformation and the change of name feels right for the pub’s heritage, its position on the canal and its next chapter.”
The Locksbrook Inn will open for drinks, breakfast, lunch and evening meals seven days a week. The Bath Pub Company will soon announce an opening date and more details about the new menu.
“A good pub should make everyone feel welcome – we’re aiming to build a special place that we hope people will feel proud to call their local.”

The Bath Pub Company will operate The Locksbrook Inn under a lease issued by Enterprise Inns.
