Bath Rugby’s eggcellent heads for farm shop fundraiser

FARLEIGH Road Farm Shop and Café has teamed up with half a dozen Bath Rugby players for a ‘Guess the Egg Chaser’ painting competition and charity auction.

After tucking into their breakfasts in the Farleigh Road Farm Shop and Café opposite their training ground, Bath players have been busy painting each other’s faces onto hard-boiled eggs.

The team’s autographed masterpieces will be exhibited at the farm shop over Easter, and available to view on Farleigh Road’s Facebook page. Fans who correctly guess the identity of each egg head, stand a chance of winning the complete egg chaser set. Bath Rugby Stuart Hooper has also signed a full size chocolate rugby ball with icing sugar, as well as the jersey he wore against Sale.

Using the farm shop’s Facebook page, Bath Rugby fans can bid for the life-size chocolate ball and shirt – signed by Stuart’s team mates, on the farm shop’s Facebook page during the Easter holidays. All funds raised will go to Dorothy House Hospice Care.

Stuart said: “Farleigh Road Farm Shop is opposite our training ground, so many players regularly enjoy a hearty post-training boiled egg with soldiers.

“I think it’s fair to say we’re all better egg chasers than artists, but hopefully our hard-boiled portraits, signed chocolate rugby ball and jersey can raise vital awareness and funds for Dorothy House this Easter.”

Liz Nelson, co-owner of Farleigh Road Farm Shop, said: “The Bath Rugby players’ really are good eggs.

“Let’s hope their cracking artwork, chocolate rugby ball and signed jersey can raise a worthy sum of money for an ‘eggcellent’ local charity.”

To bid for the signed chocolate egg and jersey visit facebook.com/Farleighroadfarmshop between Friday April 3 (starts at 1pm) and Monday April 6 (ends at 1pm).
