Press release / Opal rolls Royce mastectomy lingerie into Frome

Frome’s Opal lingerie has introduced a new brand of beautiful prosthesis bras to its winter collection, to help women who have had breast cancer feel more confident and comfortable

As a first for Frome and the Mendips, the Caress Bras from Royce offer a more flattering and prettier alternative to the standard prosthesis bra and Frome’s Catherine Hill shop owner Randa Bott is able to help customers choose the right style and fit.

“Since Opal started to stock mastectomy wear, we’ve been able to help many women across the South West and further afield, to rebuild their self esteem after their operation.  The everyday practicality of wearing a bra often becomes a challenge for those who have had breast cancer, so it’s great to be able to help women regain this confidence” commented Mrs Bott.

I’m always looking for new products and as I learnt to fit post mastectomy bras with Royce, I’m very pleased to now be able to stock this line, as the bras are so beautifully made.  I’m certain the reaction will be extremely positive.”

Based at the foot of Catherine Hill, Opal also offers an exquisite range of design-led lingerie, maternity and sportswear, camisoles, hosiery and menswear.  Free fittings are available and bra sizes AA – JJ are available.

For a discreet and complimentary fitting, please call in at 33 Catherine Hill, or telephone to book a suitable time on 01373 455587.

Notes to editors:

Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK and more than 44,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, which is more than 100 women a day.

The South West has the highest incidence rate of breast cancer across the UK at 133.2 cases diagnosed in every 100,000 women, which is above the UK average of 120.6.

Statistics from the NHS also show that, in the financial year 2005-6, there were more than 1,800 admissions for total excision of the breast in the area covered by the South West Strategic Health Authority.
