Press release / Opal reaches industry finals
Opal Lingerie in Frome has been selected as a finalist for the coveted 2008 Best Shop Awards, hosted by Underlines Magazine, the longest established and most influential UK trade publication for swimwear, lingerie, intimate apparel and legwear
The Catherine Hill boutique was short-listed under the Best Newcomer category, which applies to shops that have opened within the last 12 months showing tremendous promise.
“I’m so pleased to have achieved so much since opening last September – this industry recognition provides the first real milestone for Opal” commented owner Randa Bott.
“I didn’t expect that we would get this far with this year’s award entry, so it’s a lovely surprise. No matter what the final outcome, this achievement shows that we’re competing on the same level with some of the best lingerie shops in the country, so I feel like a winner already! Almost a year in, this provides a real boost and proves Opal’s on track as a new business.”
Winners of each category in this year’s Best Shop Awards will be announced later this month at the Underlines Magazine’s Gala Ceremony in London on 27th July.
The Best Shop Awards are reached by the nominations of 21 leading brands of underwear, swimwear and intimate apparel, and nearly 300 shops were nominated under the six categories available. Of these, only 9 have been nominated as finalists for the Best Newcomer category.
Based at the foot of Catherine Hill in Frome, Opal lingerie caters for women of all sizes, with bras available from A to JJ cup. The boutique offers an exquisite range of design-led underwear, nursing bras, prosthesis bras, camisoles, hosiery and fine fragrances for women of all sizes. Randa is also planning to introduce a new mastectomy line to the shop at the end of this month – not yet available in the UK, the products are set to have huge appeal, in offering a more feminine and tailored option for women who have had breast cancer.
Customers who would like a complimentary fitting can call in to Opal at 33 Catherine Hill, or call 01373 455587.
