Frome’s social media summit

Next week makes for something of a social media summit here in Frome.  It’ll be a busy one for Avalanche, owing in part to two events in the calendar.

Discuss and Do

First up:  Is Twitter, Facebook and blogging a waste of time? hosted by Discuss and Do.  A deliberate question raised:  there’s still many a skeptic, many a business owner and I’m sorry to say, marketing folk, who haven’t yet ventured this way.  But those who have seen its huge potential provide useful inspiration – next Wednesday evening I’ll be in good company, with David O’Coimin from Schneider Electric (previously Kell Systems) based in Frome.  He will join me in sharing his experience of the power of social media for business – and providing advice on how to use it with a business goal in mind.  We aim to inspire and provide practical pointers.  There are still tickets available, at just £5 a pop and the event starts at 6pm.  There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and good news and the evening will conclude with informal networking, accompanied by drinks and nibbles.

Please feel free to send in questions beforehand, via Twitter, posting on Avalanche’s Facebook page or sending us an email.  The Twitter hashtag for the evening is #Letusdiscuss

#FromeTweetMeet

We’ve also organised a follow up social event, aimed at Twitter users (of all abilities and experience).  Come along to the second #FromeTweetMeet – a pub social for likeminded folk to meet up on a Friday evening.  This is completely free to attend, we just ask that you register your name on this event page, so we can let The Cornerhouse roughly how many people to expect in its main bar.  Join us from 6pm on Friday 19th April for good company and a well-earned drink at the end of the week.
