Press release issued for Fussels Fine Foods, a business started by a Somerset rapeseed farmer

Entrepreneurial farmer Andy Fussell has received a significant industry accolade for his bottled rapeseed oil which has been recognised as a food product endorsing both ‘quality and integrity’ by one of the most highly respected awards in the food and drink industry.

The award-winning oil – sown, grown, harvested, cold-pressed and bottled on Andy’s farm in Somerset – was judged by a panel of industry experts including chefs, restaurateurs, trade buyers and technical specialists at the 2007 Taste of the West Awards and received a gold accolade under the ‘Sauce’ category.

The rapeseed oil is the first product to be launched by Andy’s latest venture, Fussels Fine Foods.

“This award is high praise indeed!” he enthused.  “Since launching the oil earlier this year, we’ve received a huge amount of support from individuals and businesses keen to use locally-sourced produce.  This result really reinforces the quality of the Fussels brand and provides a great starting point from which to build awareness of the British alternative to olive oil.”
