Dyne Drewett Recognised as High Achieving Fundraiser

A law firm with offices in Somerset and Dorset has this month been recognised as one of the country’s top performing fundraisers by a national charity campaign

Dyne Drewett has been thanked by organisers of fundraising organisation Will Aid for being in the country’s top 40 law firms to support its annual appeal.

The firm raised £3,040 thanks to the pro bono work undertaken by its wills, trusts and probate team; making it the second highest performing law firm in the South West and ranking 38th overall in the UK.

During November 2008 Dyne Drewett offered to waive its fees to draw up a basic Will. Instead the firm asked clients to consider making a donation to beneficiary charities that work to supply people with life’s essentials like clean drinking water, food, education and health care.

Will Aid has raised nearly £7 million in donations since its launch in 1998 and supports several charities including Help The Aged, NSPCC, ActionAid, British Red Cross, Save the Children UK, Christian Aid, SCIAF, Sightsavers International and Trócaire.

Results from its latest campaign have shown 2008 to be the most successful year yet, with a total donation of over £920,000 and an estimated £4.5m in legacy pledges.

The money donated has already been distributed to the participating charities, to be put to work in projects that will transform people’s lives.

The firm is planning to partner again with Will Aid in November this year and hopes to raise even more money.

Will Aid is endorsed by the Probate Section of the Law Society and celebrity supporters like Richard Briers OBE, Annette Crosbie, Dame Judi Dench and Graham Norton.  To find out more about its work visit www.willaid.org.uk
