Dyne Drewett partners with regional professionals to tackle property issues

Dyne Drewett Solicitors, Old Mill Accountants and Natwest partnered to host October’s Mendip Business Breakfast, which took place at the Bath and West Showground on Wednesday 15th October

Business owners in the regional property sector were invited to attend a free breakfast seminar, which not only provided a networking occasion, but a chance to benefit from the insightful market comments and advice offered by the hosting firms, and guest speaker Nick Oliver, from Cooper & Tanner.

Oliver’s overview of the current status of the region’s commercial and residential property markets provided a thought-provoking introduction to the session. Natwest then addressed the requirements of borrowing money for property and suggested extra help for borrowers in the current climate.

This was followed by a presentation from Amanda Inch, a partner of law firm Dyne Drewett, who provided an update on statutory regulations affecting the property sector, explaining the latest changes which came into effect this month.

Jolyon Stonehouse, managing partner at Old Mill Accountants and Financial Advisers, concluded the session with advice on property-related taxation issues, providing an insight into how changes in Capital Allowances and Capital Gains Tax may affect businesses, particularly in the current economic climate.
