Dyne Drewett appoints new partner

An expanding South West law firm has appointed another agricultural specialist to its partnership this month

Richard Pinney joined Dyne Drewett LLP in early 2009 and has a wealth of agricultural experience, handling legal matters associated with rural estates and agricultural businesses.

“As a driving force in our growing agricultural team, Richard’s move to the partnership reflects the strength of Dyne Drewett in this sector.  His experience and capability are a great asset to the firm and our clients, so we’re very pleased to have him leading a very professional, experienced and highly respected team” commented managing partner David Morgan.

His promotion follows the firm’s appointment last month of fellow legal stalwart Jonathan Cheal; Somerset president of and former legal adviser to the CLA, recognised as a leading adviser in cases involving public access and rights of way.

Based in the Sherborne office, Richard’s expertise includes handling rural property transactions, farm business tenancies, farm houses and all aspects of agriculture from simple licences to complex tax planning and succession issues.  Working with farmers and landowners, he offers a hands-on approach with genuine understanding of livestock and the countryside.   He also provides health and safety advice to farms and public events such as horse trials and county shows.

A member of the Agricultural Law Association; and the Country Land and Business Association, Richard read Agriculture at London University before serving as a regular officer in the cavalry. He then settled back in his home county of Dorset as a lawyer, training with Battens and then moving with Poole & Co following the split of the two firms. He became a partner at Poole & Co in 2006.

An established firm with offices across Somerset and Dorset, Dyne Drewett provides a full range of legal services to both private and commercial clients. Richard Pinney can be contacted via rpinney@dynedrewett.com or calling 01935 813 691.
