Press release / A Welsh baby show is born!

Press release issued on behalf of Maud’s Baby Show – a new series of Welsh events

‘Mumpreneur’ of three, Kaz Deacon, has launched a brand new parenting show for families in Wales.

Inspired by her experiences of isolation as a new mum, 29-year-old Kaz from Carmarthenshire decided to start a baby show business, aimed specifically for Welsh parents, to fill the gap she saw in the market.

“Last year I held a fundraising parenting show for Leukaemia Research, in memory of my best friend who died of the cancer.  It was a huge success and after receiving a Heroes of Carmarthenshire Award from Llanelli’s Scarlet FM & McDonalds for bringing the first ever baby show to Llanelli, I decided to launch a series of two-day parenting shows for Welsh families” commented Kaz, who previously presented a breakfast radio show for six years.

The first Maud’s Baby Show – named in memory of Kaz’s grandmother who urged her to follow her business dream – will take place in Swansea on the 7th and 8th March at the Grand Theatre.

Kaz’s new business venture has already resulted in new event partnerships with the British Red Cross, The Body Shop and Welsh Real Radio.  Leukaemia Research has been selected as the beneficiary from a percentage of each show’s ticket sales.

“Starting a business with three young children definitely hasn’t been easy, but I’m determined to make these shows a success and not only offer a great shopping experience for parents, but also an educational and supportive environment too.”

Free first aid lessons will be available for parents at each show from the British Red Cross, alongside professionally-staffed crèche facilities which can cater for children with special needs.  Visitors will also have the chance to win a brand new BMW Mini.

Kaz is also applying to the Welsh Assembly Government for the Maud’s Baby Shows to be recognised under the Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme, which identifies premises that understand and support the needs of breastfeeding mothers and their babies.

For more visitor and exhibitor information on the events themselves, visit www.maudsbabyshow.co.uk, call Kaz on 01554 824346 or join the Maud’s Baby Show group on Facebook to find out about exclusive offers available at each event.

Maud’s Baby Shows will be coming to Swansea on March 7th and 8th at the Grand Theatre, followed by the first of two appearances at Cardiff’s CIA from the 30th to 31st May.  The show will then travel to Trinity College in Carmarthen on September 5th and 6th.  The final show in 2009 will then be held back at the CIA in Cardiff on the 17th and 18th October.
